• Choose to do the items that are most important to your remodel's purpose and fill in lower priority items last.

• Choose a deadline and work backwards, allowing about 50% more time than you think it will take.

• Create a remodel binder with chronological task lists with sub-tasks and check things off as you get them done. A 3-ring binder with plastic sleeves is a good tool for this.

• In your remodel binder, create a sleeve for receipts, permits and quotes.

• Communicate with your contractors frequently! Keep their contact information on the front page of your remodel binder for easy reference.
