Science Jars



Fill identical clear-plastic jars with different materials such as sand, water, dirt, salt, popcorn kernals, cotton balls, rice and rocks. Screw the lids on tightly. Let your children hold and shake the jars. Which jars are the lightest? Which are the heaviest? Which ones make sounds when they are shaken? What kinds of sounds?
