SMART Goal Setting Guide
Everyone will benefit from goals and objectives if they are SMART. SMART, is the instrument to apply in setting your goals and objectives.

10 Tips for Sticking to Your Resolutions
1. Choose New Year's resolutions that you can reach. If you choose the wrong resolutions, you are already off to a bad start. Take the time to put thought into your decision.
2. Have a plan. Once you've established your list of New Year's resolutions, be sure and have a plan for how to keep them. Expect that your plan can and will change. Flexibility is required to complete any goal.
3. Find support. It is much easier to stick with your plan if you have support. Hopefully, you can form a support system of friends and family. However, forums and message boards are good alternatives.
4. Make small, attainable goals to reach along the way. Nothing big gets accomplished in one day. Resolutions are set in one day, but accomplished with a hundred tiny steps that happen throughout the year.
5. Reward yourself. When you reach these smaller goals, or have a really great week, reward yourself for your progress.
6. Anticipate cravings. When you are planning your resolution, realize that you will probably want to break your resolution sometime. Have a plan for a way around these cravings.
7. Accept that mistakes happen. Don't let one slip (or even two or three) cause you to quit. Even if you have to start your plan at the beginning again, don't quit!
8. Have a list of reasons. Sometimes we forget why we are doing these things, since resolutions are hardly ever easily kept. Take the time to write a list of reasons why you want to do this. Look at it often as a reminder.
9. Keep a journal. Keep a journal is a simple way to keep motivated. Later, you can look back and see your progress.
10. Review and re-evaluate. Once a month, or at least a few times throughout the year, review how you've been fairing on your plan. Be honest with yourself and change your plan, if needed.
