About Gwen Ridley
Gwen is a wife and proud mother of 6 children: three boys ages 24, 21, and 16; and three girls ages 14 and 11 year old twins. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and currently resides in Milford, Ohio where she provides family child care. Gwen has been offering child care in her home for 19 years.
Her credentials have included: CDA (Child Development Associate Credential), National Accreditation, Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, and numerous hours of inservice from attending child care related workshops and conferences. She is currently working toward her Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education. Gwen's goals are to earn a Master's Degree and mentor other Family Child Care Professionals.

Did You Know?
• Almost 12 million children under age 5 in the United States—that’s 63 percent of the nation’s children under 5—are in some type of child care arrangement every week, And more than 6 million of them are in the care of someone other than a relative.
• On average, children under age 5 spend more than 30 hours a week in child care. Children of working mothers spend almost 40 hours a week in these arrangements.
• A family in the United States with a 4-year-old child encounters average prices of $3,016 to $9,628 a year in child care fees. Parents of infants face even higher child care prices. Average child care fees for one infant range from $3,803 to $13,480 a year.
• Currently, 70.7% of women with children work.
